Learning goal - To investigate a particular theme and create imagery that describes the theme.  The theme will be Fall

Learning Outcomes:  

• To apply an understanding of compositional rules.     

• To apply an understanding of depth of field.

• Use of a variety of camera angles.  

• To make use of HDR to enhance images (See tutorial on classroom).  

• Using Adobe Photoshop to learn how to use an overlay layer to dodge and burn.

• Using Adobe Photoshop to learn how adjust hue and saturation enhance an image.  

• Using Adobe Photoshop to learn how to sharpen aspect of an image. 

• Print quality (resolution, understanding of pixels per inch)

Assignment:

 

Your goal is to capture imagery that best describes the season of Fall.

 

Fall is much more than just fall foliage (although fall foliage is a big part of fall). Fall is the time when many crops are ready for harvest, cold weather first arrives often creating morning fog, the days get shorter, animals begin getting thick shaggy fur for winter, changing leaves, first snow flurries of the year, thanksgiving, halloween and more. Fall is that odd time between winter and summer where, depending on your location, the weather can't seem to make up its mind. Fall also varies greatly depending on where you live so "Fall" can mean many different things for many different people and or places.  

 

For this assignment demonstrate what Fall means to YOU. Think about composition, camera angels, depth of field, light (time of day) when setting up your shots.  Get creative and show your best "fall" shots!

Presentation: Uploaded to the server with all files organized in a folder named using naming convention. 

• 1 contact sheet (20 images, your best! - must include date, aperture, shutter speed and ISO), order images so the ones that you are most proud of are at the top of your contact sheet.  

• 3 edited images - saved as jpegs - 1 of which must be edited using HDR.
