SELECTED WORKS

 

REQUIREMENTS AND PROMPTS

Submit five works that demonstrate:

  • 2-D/3-D/drawing skills (depending on type of portfolio submitted)

  • Synthesis of materials, processes, and ideas

 

For each work, state the following in writing:

  • Idea(s) visually evident (100 characters maximum, including spaces)

  • Materials used (100 characters maximum, including spaces)

  • Processes used (100 characters maximum, including spaces)

In the Selected Works section of the exam, you will be required to submit five examples of your best work. In this section you do not need to show a variety of techniques or approaches, just your greatest works.  Preferably these images should come from your sustained investigation section of your portfolio. These images need to be gutsy, brave, fearless........they should create an emotive response in the viewer. They should be full of verve!  They do not have to have a theme or be connected in any way.

 

In the Selected Works section, works at this level should be:

  • an imaginative, inventive, and confident articulation of the principles of Design.

  • an accomplished use of the elements of design guided by the principles.

  • a display well-informed sense of composition.

  • an obvious evidence of thinking;

  • evidence of confidence and verve, or student voice;

  • display a somewhat complex visual and or conceptual idea;

  • successful engagement with experimentation and or risk taking;

  • demonstrating informed decision making.

  • demonstrating a strong Synthesis of materials, processes and idea.

  • conceptually strong.
