Lesson #6: Photoshop - Statue of Liberty
Big Idea - How can I inventively create 7 realistic changes to this photo to challenge copyright protection and convey my individual voice?



Learning Goal - To gain a strong understanding of the use of Adobe Photoshop tools to manipulate an image and create an entirely new work.

Goal;
To create a minimum of 7 changes using Adobe Photoshop to the back and white image provided here. This original image can also be found on Google Classroom. Possible changes could include:

Change the sky

Add clouds or weather effects
-
Add colour to selected areas (counts as a maximum of two changes)

Add a person in the foreground
-
Change the time of day
-
Add birds in the sky
-
Add boats or ferries in the water
-
Replace or modify the background cityscape
-
Add lighting effects (sun rays, glow, lens flare)
-
Add atmospheric depth (fog, haze, distance blur)

Change the texture of the statue (aging, cracks, weathering)

Add realistic reflections in the water

Add an object interacting with the statue

Add environmental elements (rain, snow, leaves)

Crop and reframe the image

Warp the image
All of the photographs used in this assignment must be taken by you. Think about scale, depth of field and foreground, middle ground and background when manipulating your image. Your final image must appear to be as realistic as possible.
