Personal - CHOP MARK

Big Idea: You will want to create your own CHOP to mark your work throughout the year. A Chop is essentially a clay stamp the represents you! You will want to create a meaningful symbol with which to "sign" all your artwork.

ASSIGNMENT:

Create a chop that identifies you as an artist by manipulating your name initials through the use of:

  • Exaggeration—over-emphasizing or intensifying a portion or aspect of an image

  • Rotation—revolving, moving, or rearranging an image or parts of an image

  • Reversal—turning inside out, inverting, transposing, or converting to the opposite an effect in all or a portion of an image

  • Distortion—misrepresenting and pulling out of shape any part of an image
